Gerard Quinn

CDC is the economic development agency for Christchurch. CDC works to increase the competitiveness of the City and surrounding region by developing a relevantly skilled regional workforce, increasing local business capability, and undertaking transformational economic infrastructure projects.
Gerard's first career was in aviation, performing various roles within New Zealand's air traffic managemant system, before heading to Melbourne to assume responsibility for the capability of Australia's 1100 air traffice controllers. He also owned a South Island wide courier and manpower company which employed 100 staff. Upon his return to New Zealand, Gerard was Group Manager of the Canterbury Elections Group, and Executive Director of Connect Canterbury, an agency which places Advisory Boards around high-growth companies. Gerard has a BA (Psychology) and an MBA (Dist) from the University of Canterbury, and a Grad Cert in Economic Development from AUT.
