Digital Engagement Specialist – Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency

Website WREDA

The company

Our vision at the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency (WREDA) is to make Wellington the most prosperous, liveable, and vibrant region in Australasia. We market Wellington as a destination for visitors, migrants and investors; help businesses grow and innovate; advocate for Wellington’s economy; attract and promote major events and run civic venues.

The role

We’re on the hunt for a talented, passionate and generally pretty awesome Digital Engagement Specialist to join our Digital team, managing our consumer-focused digital marketing channels.

You will be responsible for the management of our social media communities, curating content and eNewsletters as well as managing a group of bloggers for Wellington’s official, yet kind of independent blog, Word on the Street.

Naturally, you’ll also be a Wellington geek… with knowledge of not only the greatest places to eat, drink, shop and visit, and of the liveliest events, but also of local companies doing amazing things, helping to build Wellington’s reputation as a place where incredible ideas are born. Your passion for Wellington will know no bounds.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Mad copy writing skills
  • An eye for detail and grammatical errors
  • A thirst for learning about new things – whether it’s the latest digital channel or a new shop opening in town – you’ll be the first to know.

You’ll be a social media whiz, knowing your way around insights and ads, as well as what makes for thumb-stopping content. You’ll be a confident communicator with the ability to engage in conversations on a variety of topics. You’ll also be able to crunch numbers, knowing that algorithms and analytics play an important role in social media success.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years’ experience in a marketing role, with the know-how to manage social media accounts.
