The Ministry for Primary Industries is looking for an experienced Senior Adviser to join the Economic Development and Partnerships team. Reporting through to the Development Manager, you will identify, support and manage the development and implementation of initiatives that lead to economic development in the primary sector.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced operator to really make their mark with key projects. You need to be flexible as no two days will be the same. You will be involved across the full spectrum of primary industries and be the coordinator of MPI input into business cases and feasibility studies along with writing reports and briefings. You will need to be confident enough to represent MPI in public forums – from gumboots/grassroots to the boardroom.
To be successful in this role you need exceptional relationship management skills, be a self-starter, have a high level of influencing skills, be a good writer and politically savvy. We also need you to be proactive and have get up and go and be able to pick up a work programme and run with it.
There will be some domestic travel involved and a lot of relationship building with people in the South Island. This role will be located in Christchurch.
