Whanganui & Partners needs you to focus on Business. Retaining and growing our existing businesses and attracting new businesses and investment to Whanganui.

Our method to achieve successful economic development outcomes is to form partnerships with the community, focusing on growth and prosperity. One aspect of this work is supporting businesses – from assisting existing businesses to improve productivity, providing advice and access to support to grow existing businesses, supporting entrepreneurs to establish and grow innovative start-up business; attracting new businesses that can take advantage of Whanganui’s great lifestyle, affordable housing, world class schools, and ultra-fast broadband connection.

Ideally you will be tertiary qualified in a business related discipline with significant business development and entrepreneurial experience. Experience in business planning, project management, and strategy implementation would also be highly valued.

Tasks to be undertaken will range from developing and/or overseeing services to support businesses through to identification and promotion of business and investment opportunities. Building relationships with appropriate partners including central government agencies and departments that provide funding and other support programmes is a vital component of the position.
